Angulr is a collaboration between Julian Mancuso and Lauren Binning, who met while working together in New York City.
In 2014, Lauren and Julian moved into a larger space. The small pieces that had once sufficiently filled the tiny open walls in their apartments now left them staring at blank white spaces. Being appreciators of art, they began to dream up ways to fill the empty walls.

Lauren and Julian developed Angulr out of a desire to decorate with bright modern pieces. They are both inspired by architecture, modern and historic. More specifically by the mix of subtle textures, intricate details, and changing reflections, mixed with simple geometric lines. They find that bringing this inspiration from their exterior inspirations indoors makes for beautifully designed rooms. Each piece is created with the intent to produce something they would display in their own home.
Due to the mix of simple lines and bright colors, Angulr prints can adapt to a variety of spaces and will provide a pop of color to any room.

The Angulr process starts by sketching out a basic composition and deciding on a color palette. From there, Julian models a 3D shape, tweaking the dimension and colors. Each slight shift in light can change the appearance drastically as the golds and silvers reflect the colors throughout the shape.
When Julian is done, he passes the shape to Lauren to form the composition and define the final design. Lauren begins with a basic idea or concept for the print but lets the 3D shape inform the composition as she goes. She adds and edits colors and crops the 3D shape until it becomes the final piece; one that is both simple and geometric but complicated and interesting in its details.
